Stratford has been rebuilt since 2012, and a large share of rented homes are in new blocks: the towers beside the station and Westfield, the apartment buildings of the International Quarter, and the former athletes' village at East Village in E20. These flats are open plan, glazed and compact, with balconies, built-in wardrobes and integrated appliances that all appear on the inventory.
Away from the shopping centre, E15 has Victorian terraces around Maryland and towards West Ham, many split into flats or let as rooms in a shared house. They need a different clean: older tiling, limescale on taps and shower heads, and sash or uPVC windows with tracks that have not been lifted in months.
The glazing deserves a note. Most towers have large windows with sliding balcony doors, and the tracks collect dust and grit through a tenancy. In a shared flat, the problem tends to be shared areas: the hob and extractor, the oven, the fridge and the bathroom. The oven is £55 extra, the fridge or freezer £25, and a washing machine and dishwasher £19. If the flat has carpet, we can arrange carpet cleaning by an independent partner, confirmed separately. The 72-hour re-clean applies if your agent raises a cleaning point.
