Lewisham is a borough of long Victorian terraces. In Brockley SE4, Ladywell SE13 and Telegraph Hill, many of these are houses converted into two or three flats, often with the original sash windows, high ceilings, fireplaces and painted skirting that make a rented flat look good and take work to clean. Near the town centre, Lewisham Gateway and the blocks around the DLR station have added modern one and two bed flats, and Deptford SE8 has a mix of warehouse conversions, creekside new-builds and older council stock.
