End of tenancy cleaning in Hackney: renting is the norm
Hackney is one of the few London boroughs where private renting outnumbers owner-occupation. Sharers, creatives, young professionals and growing families move constantly, so there is always someone checking out. The borough runs from Hoxton and Haggerston in the south to Clapton and Stoke Newington in the north, and out east to Homerton and Hackney Wick.
If you are leaving a rented home here, the clean needs to match the check-in inventory room by room. The base clean covers kitchens, bathrooms, windows and frames inside, skirting boards, doors, switches, sockets, radiators, wardrobes and drawers, with floors vacuumed and mopped. Products and equipment are supplied.
Hackney's rental turnover also follows the academic year and the job market, with a busy period from June to September. Booking a few days ahead is usually enough, and the fixed price means no hourly surprises if the flat is dirtier than expected.
02
Converted terraces, warehouses and estates
Much of Hackney is Victorian terracing divided into flats, often with bay windows, sash frames and old fireplaces. Window tracks and sills gather grime, and bathrooms in conversions sometimes have poor ventilation, so black mould around sealant is common and takes care to remove. Georgian and Victorian houses around London Fields and De Beauvoir often have high ceilings and large windows.
Hackney Wick and Hackney Central have newer blocks and former industrial units turned into apartments, with open-plan kitchens where grease builds up on cupboard fronts and extractor covers. Ex-council blocks around Homerton and Clapton are usually straightforward but have several radiators and cupboards. Pet hair, odour and litter areas can be added from £20.
Sash windows in older Hackney conversions often have painted-over tracks and cord boxes that trap dust, so the frames and sills get the slow, detailed wipe that inventory photos usually show.
03
Parking, permits and access in E5, E8 and E9
Hackney has some of the most tightly controlled parking in London. Most streets are in controlled parking zones with permit bays and short pay-and-display stretches, and some roads are closed to through traffic. We plan the visit around this and tell you any parking cost before you book.
Hackney Central, Hackney Downs, Dalston Junction, Homerton and Hackney Wick all have Overground services, which makes weekend and same-week slots easy to arrange. Key collection from an agent, neighbour or concierge can be organised if you have already left.
Many flats on the first and second floors of converted houses have steep, narrow communal stairs, so we bring equipment that is easy to carry up. If the building has a shared entrance or buzzer system, give us the details when booking, so there are no delays on the day.

01How much does end of tenancy cleaning cost in Hackney?
A studio starts from £159, a one bed from £189 and a two bed from £235. Prices are fixed and include VAT. The oven interior is £55 extra, and a standard fridge or freezer is £25. Carpets are arranged separately through an independent partner.
02Is parking a problem for cleaners in Hackney?
Hackney has permit-controlled streets and short pay-and-display bays, so we plan the visit around them. If a parking cost applies, we tell you before you book. Key collection from agents or neighbours can be arranged if you will not be there.
03Can you remove black mould from bathroom sealant?
We descale and clean bathrooms thoroughly, including grout and tiles, which often lifts surface mould. Mould that has soaked deep into sealant or plaster may need a landlord repair, and fair wear and tear is allowed for in deposit decisions.
04How does the 72-hour re-clean work?
If your agent or landlord raises a cleaning point within the agreed work, tell us within 72 hours of completion. We come back and re-clean it free. This backs our deposit-back guarantee, and the deposit scheme offers free dispute resolution.
