Stucco terraces and post-war estates

Pimlico is laid out on a grid of cream stucco terraces that run south of Belgrave Road, most of them divided into flats. Many are small, with basement and lower-ground units that have little natural light and a tendency to damp. Churchill Gardens, the post-war estate beside the river, adds low-rise and high-rise council-built blocks, many now privately let, and there are newer blocks near Victoria and Vauxhall Bridge Road.

This mix affects the clean. Stucco flats have tall sash windows, narrow bathrooms and old tiling. Ex-council flats are more compact and often have balconies and large windows facing the river. Older Pimlico flats are prone to limescale on taps and shower screens, condensation marks in basement bathrooms and dust in sash window tracks, all of which an agent will look for.
